Fatboy Goes All Arty

Thunder in the Glens 2013

I spent a few care free hours wandering around the annual gathering of Harley enthusiasts at thunder in the Glen. Held in Aviemore this rally takes over the town for a weekend late in August which is now in it's 17th year with an expected 4000 to be in attendance there was going to be a big party for sure.
I would like to thank the twat who decided to park so close to my bike I couldn't lift it off the stand!  there was no shortage of parking so why this fuck wit thought it necessary to wedge his bike between mine and someone Else's I shall never know? and a few more trade stands would have been nice in what is billed as the Sturgis of Europe, but these are my only criticisms of the day. The bands played and everyone appeared in good spirits both in the MacDonald resort and along the high street.
Funny being at a Harley rally and the first bike that cathes you eye is a lovely cafe Honda but I thought it was lovely so make no apoligies for including in the pics.
I would go again but next time I am going to pre-book a camping spot and stay the weekend.

2013 Indian Motorcycles

So 2013 See's the re-launch of Indian motorcycles now owned and manufactured by Polaris (snow mobile experts and also the parent company of Victory) The new Chief looks quite nice but the Chieftain with its USS Enterprise front fairing leaves me cold I'm afraid.
I don't know if the folks across at Harley will be overly worried by the latest competition as they have range of motorcycles which is much larger and suits a variety of deep pockets, I think the owner's are quite loyal to the brand but time will tell and Indian already has its own clothing range waiting in the wings to dress out there followers along with the usual accessories to make your bike an individual well as individual as the next guy who flexes his cheque book in the factory catalogue.

1948 Indian Chief

With all the hype of the new Indian being released at Sturgis I thought it would be nice to show of an original.

For sale at Parker Indian for AUD$24,000 ONO, I think it's worth every penny.

Yamaha XV950 Bolt

Well Yamaha are scrapping the bottom of the jar for fresh ideas now, after the MT-09 triple they have released a Harley Davidson Sportster clone! I am trying to think of something positive to say but I am struggling, every time i see a picture all I can see is that bloody great tank seam!!! crap exhaust and drab paintwork, apparently theres two verions, a standard and an R version that features something else that I can't be arsed to research.
Take a tip from me if you want a Sportster buy a Sportster, if you buy a clone it will only ever be a clone you will always be left wondering what its like to own the real thing!

Triumph Flatrack by Mule

Easy to see why the Bonnie is a customizers dream, it allows the owner, builder to make so many styles out of the same bike, one week you can have a flat tracker the next a cafe racer all made with the same base bike.
Anyway here's a couple of flat trackers that just look so right they could have come straight from the Triumph factory.

Scrambler Sportster

Found this martini coloured 883 on Bike Exif, The more people who see it the better!
