Whilst I was at it I removed the AIS and fitted the New Bonneville plugs and resistor which really cleans up the cylinder head as well as making it possible to remove the plugs with out lifting the tank, the real bonus ball though is it's stopped back popping through the exhaust now when i shut the throttle off.

A few Bonnie updates
Fitted Lsl Bars, Rizoma mirrors over the winter which has given me the riding position I was looking for, had to shorten the bars by 25mm each side though as just too wide. The mirrors was pure cosmetic, I coudn't stand the Mickey Mouse ears chrome ones any longer!!!

Triumph Flatrack by Mule
Easy to see why the Bonnie is a customizers dream, it allows the owner, builder to make so many styles out of the same bike, one week you can have a flat tracker the next a cafe racer all made with the same base bike.
Anyway here's a couple of flat trackers that just look so right they could have come straight from the Triumph factory.

Triumph Quadrant
Someone said time flies when your having fun, unfortunately this is also true when your not.......
It's nearly two months since my last blog post, the only excuses I can muster are the weather has been at best crap and now I am working full time I lack the motivation to sit at a computer in the evenings.
Anyway one highlight during the rainy season (I am sure the next jump in human evolution will be that we all become water proof) was the lanark classic Bike Show, I didn't take many photos as once again the rain was lashing down which put a huge dampener on the event and kept attendance down but this Triumph Quadrant took my eye, I know nothing about other than the crankcases where machined out of solid billet but it does look like a proper factory special, I have also enclosed an image of a Trident for you to compare.

Check Out The Craftsmanship
This is a stunning Bonnie, the more you look at tit the more you can tell how much time has been spent on attention to detail, a beautiful blend of old and new.
For more info check out return of the cafe racer

Modern Triton
Cracking mixture of old and new in this Triton, would put a smile on any ones face when they lifted the garage door. Also worth noting this bike is ridden whatever the weather, makes me feel a little embarrassed about sticking mine away for the winter, but I will get over it!

Throttle Bodies
The adaptors finally turned up so that the throttle bodies could be balanced on the Tiger, whilst in there I thought it would be a good idea to fit the new ICAV gasket that I had and along with the new vacuum tubes that should be all air leaks taken care of. To say the throttle bodies where along way out would be an understatement the bike was trying to backfire through the middle cylinder and they wasn't even on the gauges they where that far out Baz an Gav did an awesome job of tuning them! it's like a totally different bike just sits there ticking over quietly, no hunting, no stalling and so fucking smooth it's unreal!
I had read somewhere that balancing the throttle bodies was the best thing you can do to a Tiger and the author of that pearl of wisdom was not wrong, I am not exaggerating it's totally transformed her!
As always though nothing can ever go smoothly and one of the fuel pump fittings snapped so I had to order a couple of these in as one leaked when disconnected and sod's law states that the one that broke was not the leaky one, so whilst the pump was out a new filter was fitted, you should have seen the shite that come out of the old one and the crud that was in the bottom of the tank! can't be rust as it's plastic so the only place it could have come from is the petrol pumps!
Anyway that's the last piece of the puzzle and finally she runs like she was designed too, all the other things I had done to her made small but significant improvements but having got the throttle bodies balanced has totally transformed the old girl.

Purchased a set of these for the Bonnie, have to say the quality is nothing short of outstanding, honestly the photos don't do them justice!

Thruxton Tank
Sale of the century this one! I could not believe my luck when I stumbled across this tank. It's a Brand new never fitted Thruxton tank mine for a measly sum so now my Bonny will have the proper tank badges instead of decals.
