New Job

I have a new job, I shall now be working part time in the parts department in a local Bike dealership, funny how things come around it was 21 years ago that I worked in a Kawasaki dealership. Let the good times roll.............

Silverstone MotoGp

Well Silverstone take two. After last years craptacular British GP surely this year must be better!
The weekend didn't get off to a great start to be honest, thunder an lightning, flash floods and persistent rain all the way down to my mothers gaff in Lincolnshire where I was stopping for the weekend on the Friday, Saturday was at least dry but the wind was some fierce so it was with some trepidation I set the alarm for four O'clock Sunday morning to be pleasantly surprised by sunshine and a large drop in the wind, still last year it had been nice until about 7.30 am when it pissed down so no counting chickens an all that.......
We took a wrong turn off at the circuit and ended up in a better car park than last year and straight up to the entrance gate with no queue to get in, this is bloody perfect I thought, within ten minutes we were in the circuit heading towards Luffield   where we was going to be in the grandstand (lesson learnt from last year!) choice of seats perfect, sit down with a cuppa and wait.
The racing was awesome, I'm not writing a full report but by god it was good to see Scott Redding sticking it to Marc Marquez on the last lap for 2nd place in the moto 2 and Cal Crutchlow was riding like a man possessed to grab 6th with a broken left foot by God I bet he had something stronger than Aspirin when he got back to his pit. When the Moto 3 bike come past in a group the Dambusters theme tune pops in my head, if you closed your eyes you would swear they where aeroplanes taking off!!
In short everything went well this time I got good weather and I finally got to see Rossi race albeit for 9th spot but I have done it now and its crossed off my bucket list. I only wish I had taken a better camera.
Is this telly a bit big for my living room?
 Marshalls Practising
 Look nice weather

Lorenzo Signs

That's Lorenzo tied to Yamaha for 2013/2014, no great surprise really, just a bit surprised he's committed this early. Does this mean a return to Honda for Valentino? would mean eating a slice of humble pie and having to admit failure in developing the Duc of death but surely that's better than spending the next two years racing for 6th place!!!!

Roll On Friday!

Only four days to go before I once again set off on my pilgramage to the Mecca that is Silverstone for the MotoGp, I shall be hoping for good results from Cal, Bradley and Scott Redding and if its not too much too ask can Rossi have a podium too please?

New Bone Dome

Bought myself one of these, Schuberth S1, I like my Shoei but now I'm riding a naked bike its just way too loose! Feels a great fit, really snug all over and it has a skirt around the neck which should help cut noise down, also comes with built in sun visor which will be handy on the odd occasion we actually get too see the sun!

Ayr Classic Motorcycle Show

On Sunday it was the 23rd Scottish Classic Motorcycle Show at Ayr so me and the flying top box decided to pop along to the race course and have a look. The ride in was interesting if not a bit on the chilly side (read this as being bloody freezing!) and I think someone had been playing silly buggers with one of the signs as it was pointing in the wrong direction, luckily for me Alan knows where the race course is so it wasn't a problem but I do wonder how many went the wrong way before having to turn around and come back?
The show itself was well attended and there was some auto jumble outside and a few clothing stands and the bikes were all nicely laid out inside with plenty of access to walk through them and view them properly in fact it was very well turned out I thought with some lovely bikes of all vintages on display. Anyway here's a few pics.

Would I go again? Yes is the emphatic answer to that, nice wee show and well worth the £5 entry fee and these events deserve all the support they can get.
